ABOUT NSI

Neural Sciences International
In 2017 NSI contracted with the U.S. Government for Research and Development of two Military styled Concussion Mitigation helmet liner systems. This research was to study the application of the Liner System to the standard Military Helmet, the reduction, number and severity of concussive impacts which may cause traumatic brain injuries for warriors. Not all impacts cause a concussion. The five cell liner system is designed to easily replace the present day ACH/ECH helmet pads. The lightweight system is robust and complete with electronics, sensors, accelerometers, force sensors, microprocessors and special controls.

“There is no known system today capable of preventing total brain injury”

NSI’s active impact mitigation system, using smart technology will assess the force of an impact to the head and respond within milliseconds to decay this force. This will minimize brain movement and create a soft landing for the brain following an impact. Given the frequency and severity of head trauma and the high number reported by the Department of Defense, downstream health care costs will be extremely high as impacted individuals may need care long after their Military tours are complete and throughout their entire life.

The patented technology helmet liner system acts as a collision impact energy dissipation and electronics sensing and reporting system. The microprocessors provide multiple bio-physiology platforms for additional data processing.

NSI’s technology simultaneously senses and reduces all three concussion factors; g-force, impact momentum, and rotational torque, while also serving as a real-time data gathering and monitoring tool. It represents a paradigm shift in head/brain protection.

NSI Technology uses Theoretical Physics and Electronics to maximize performance.

At NSI, our technology drives us to focus on innovative ways to protect our Warriors. Based on our seven years of research and development findings, the system will significantly reduce impacts to a much safer level.
